The winning Project
"Discussing Responsibly & Democratically"
2nd Primary School of Ag. Stefanos (Grade 6) & Goulandris Museum of Natural History
This collaborative project between the 2nd Primary School of Ag. Stefanos and the Goulandris Museum of Natural History addressed the challenges young adolescents face when discussing controversial or complex topics. It aimed to cultivate responsible, democratic dialogue by fostering critical thinking and collaborative communication. Drawing from frameworks like Argumentative Discourse, Dialogic Argumentation Skills, Accountable Talk, and Deliberative Discourse, the project integrated these strategies under the philosophies of Plato and John Dewey. Students developed critical analysis skills, learned to engage respectfully with opposing views, and understood how dialogue strengthens friendships and mutual respect.
